Training & Employment
Our approach
On-country training and employment:
Pathways for youth and local community members
Skill-building programs aligned with real industry needs
Safe and supportive spaces for learning, mentoring, and growth
Community-led enterprises that strengthen local capacity and the regional economy

Supported by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), the RJED Program addresses the growing labour shortage across agriculture, trades, and construction in regional communities.
Many young people and community members are seeking opportunities to build skills and secure meaningful employment. Without targeted support, gaps in training and pathways can limit personal growth and regional economic development.
Delivering the Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) Program

What we're doing
We’re delivering outcomes that make a real difference by partnering with RTOs and local businesses to create supported employment pathways, developing programs that build real-world skills in farming, machinery, land care, and enterprise, and establishing community enterprises that generate income, grow capability, and meet local needs – all driven by the community and grounded in local strengths.
Job opportunities
We partner with TRACQS. We are always looking for motivated individuals to join our team, and employ people from communities spread across the Western Tablelands region. How can you support us?
Pathways and opportunities
Your contribution directly powers hands-on training, mentoring, and real employment pathways for people seeking a hand up. From materials and tools that enable practical learning to structured mentorship and enterprise projects, every dollar helps build confidence, capability, and opportunity.
Businesses can play a vital role by offering work placements or apprenticeships, sponsoring training modules or equipment, and sharing industry expertise through mentoring and workshops. Partnership opportunities include collaborating on community-led enterprise projects that create skills for life and strengthen regional economies. Every contribution, large or small, actively empowers people to thrive.

At The MaraWay, we believe meaningful work and on-country training are essential to building strong futures for youth and communities. Through our farm and enterprise initiatives, we create pathways that empower people to gain skills, grow, and thrive in safe, supportive environments – while strengthening the local economy and supporting employment in regional and remote areas.
